Imagine a system where users could share files and earn rewards the more files they shared? These rewards would be paid using crypto, not only to those who host the content, but also to those who actually created it or first put it on the network. Everything done in a decentralized manner and with privacy. We would therefore have a system with great economic incentives for both the servers that store the files and the users who created or made those files available on the network.
This system would have two layers: one responsible only for links and how to find those files, while the other would be responsible for validation and storage testing. The first layer could be thought of somewhat like a Google or decentralized search engine, where users would share only links with each other, not the files themselves. In the second layer, there would be something orders of magnitude more complex, serving to verify the files on each server and their relevance. Think, for example, of a protocol like BitTorrent, but which would pay a reward to users the more files they had and sent, and would also take into account the relevance of each file.
Based on this system, something similar to what happens on the stock exchange or in brokerages could be built. That is, the user could invest, for example, in a video or piece of content and could make a profit or a loss depending on the variation in popularity or relevance of that content they invested in or bet on. Just as people invest in companies, they could invest in content creators (and their content).
I think that one of the main features that the decentralized web should have would be the ease with which the user could download or back up even a gigantic content base, or an entire site, or several of them automatically. If the server received rewards, why would it put up barriers or make that difficult to happen? Imagine if there were a button called "download the entire web" and the user could do that!? How could an incentive system be developed that rewards both the site from which the content was downloaded, the original creator of the content, and the one who now made a backup of the content?
